CSR Project of SKLOGC at GSKP and Brgy.Bagoenged

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF SK LIGUASAN OIL AND GAS CORP.
AT LIGUASAN MARSH MUNICIPALITY OF GENERAL SALIPADA K. PENDATUN AND BARANGAY BAGOENGED, PAGALUNGAN, MAGUINDANAO

On 11 September 2020, SK Liguasan Oil and Gas Corp. (SKLOGC) conducted its first CSR project in Liguasan Marsh. It facilitated the donation of 7 Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) motorized 21-foot pumpboats to General Salipada K. Pendatun (GSKP), a municipality of Maguindanao that covers 70% of Liguasan.

On hand to receive the donation is GSKP Mayor Bimbo Pendatun – Ali, a
grandson of the legendary General Salipada K. Pendatun, a hero of the Second World War, a class 38 graduate of University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law, a former Senator and leader of his people. GSKP was 1 year ahead of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos at UP.

The pumpboats are important in providing services to the residents of GSKP living in the marshland especially during the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis where they are being used as boat ambulance. What makes this donation significant is that this is an effort of BFAR Region 12 headed by
Mr. Usop Pendalilay Jr. Region 12 is already outside the jurisdiction of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) yet BFAR still donated the boats.

In his own words, Mr. Pendalilay said, “Regardless whether the area is inside or outside Region 12, so long as my brothers need them we will provide”. BFAR is headed by retired Commodore and Undersecretary Ed Gongona. Commo. Gongona and the CEO of SKLOGC were former classmates at the Philippine Military Academy.

On 06 October 2020, SKLOGC completed the 10-boat BFAR donation by delivering
the remaining boats to Bagoenged Barangay Chairman Kodjack Andoy. Bagoenged
is a barangay in Pagalungan, Maguindanao.
